Your athlete needs to slow down. Your athlete needs to create space. This simple skill can buy time and allow your athlete to play with confidence. Catching the ball with your full body is important. Catching the balk on a quick stop is a game changer. It will allow your athlete to pivot in multiple directions on both feet which allows them to do two critical things: #1create space, and #2 buy time to make the right play. this video below is where we would start to develop footwork and pivoting habits. As your athlete develops they will be challenged in different ways to put it under pressure.
