There is a lot of noise out there.
Distractions. And some of the worst can be our own negative thoughts and self talk. This might be one of the biggest barriers or road blocks to a player achieving what they want. They know what they want. They are acting on it. But then something throws a curveball at them. It rattles the confidence. It allows self-doubt to creep in. It knocks them off track. That's the time to mentally get better. Become strong enough to face the challenges. Understand how they can make us better. Work to turn those negatives into positives. Then keep moving along. Keep fighting for what is wanted. Here are 3 ways to fight the negative noise: 1. When you run into naysayers or people who don't believe in you or your dream. Think of the ones that do believe in you and your dream. Gain strength from those working for you. 2. When self-doubt creeps in use a trigger word or positive thought to keep it out. Don't believe it. 3. Welcome the challenge. Understand that it could be in your best interest. It could be preparing you for success down the road. Keep pushing! Keep working towards what you want. Reminder - starting March 1st there are 92 days of opportunity to be prepared for high school team camps in June. There are 122 days of opportunity to be prepared for the July, club recruiting events. That is a lot of opportunity to really go after what you want.
